Meet the team at Godfrey Financial Associates

  • We believe everyone deserves peace of mind in a complex financial world.

  • We believe minimizing fees and expenses can boost your returns.

Kathleen Godfrey, President

For over 25 years, my company has stood for integrity, transparency, and honesty in all we do. As fiduciaries, we are legally required to put your interests first, even when it’s not profitable for us to do so.

Godfrey Financial is deeply committed to the Capital Region: in 2000 I instituted a corporate policy to give back to our community. Each year, we donate at least 10 percent of our net profits to local nonprofit organizations.

I am committed to making a difference, and donate time and resources to organizations that move me, including:

  • Woman in Insurance & Financial Services (WIFS)

    • Past National President

    • Past local chapter President

  • Capital Region Chamber of Commerce

  • Rotary Club of Albany

  • Women President’s Organization (WPO)

  • Girl Scouts of Northeastern NY

  • Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood

  • Habitat for Humanity

Ruth Maresca, CRPC

Ruth is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. A lifelong learner and dedicated student of her field, she is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate complex financial decisions with clarity and confidence.

Ruth’s appreciation for thoughtful investing began early, inspired by her grandfather’s example. In the 1920s, he and her grandmother ran a small candy store in Brooklyn and invested in a then-little-known company called Pepsi-Cola. Over time, that investment grew—and by the 1980s, it helped nine grandchildren purchase their first homes. This family story continues to inspire Ruth’s belief in the power of disciplined investing and long-term planning.
